A tripartite memorandum for joint cooperation was signed between the UNESCO Chair on Coastal Geo-Hazard Analysis, the Research Institute for Earth Sciences and the University of Zanjan on 30 October 2025, during the first international conference and the 28th national conference of the Geological Society of Iran, held at the University of Zanjan.
The signing coincided with the university’s anniversary celebration and Cyrus the Great Day. On the opening day of the conference, 29 October, the Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair delivered two lectures — one on white hydrogen, and one on the use of artificial intelligence in the creation of geological maps.
