Development of regional relations of the UNESCO Chair in Coastal Geo- Hazards
The UNESCO Chair on Coastal Geo- Hazard Analysis (UCCGHA) and the Research Institute for Earth sciences (RIES) held two joint online meetings with Russian universities and research centers of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Ocean, Saint-Petersburg and Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation from January 13 and July 8, 2024, to foster cooperation in geosciences. During the meeting, participants presented their research interests and infrastructure, identifying common areas of interest. The event culminated in the decision to establish a memorandum of cooperation between the RIES, the UCCGHA, and their Russian counterparts.
